Do You Love or Hate Your Credit Cards?

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

A lot of people have a love-hate relationship with their credit cards. They love the convenience of being able to make purchases now and pay for them later. They also love how fast and easy it is to buy things with credit cards. But they hate the interest they accumulate on balances, and the fees. It seems like you can’t have it all with a credit card, and you must take the good along with the bad.

This might be how it seems, but isn’t necessarily true, and you don’t have to settle for a credit card you hate even part of the time. The Best Credit Cards work for you all the time, not against you – provided of course you use them responsibly.

If you would love to make a purchase and not have to pay an interest on it for 55 days, you can. You simply need to choose a card with a 55 day interest free period, and make your purchase at the start of this period. You may also need to forego purchases that will shorten this interest free period on certain credit cards, but with a little planning, this isn’t hard to accomplish.

If you choose the right credit card for your lifestyle and spending style, you’ll love everything about what your card allows you to do. Some people love their Diners Club Credit Cards, while others love their travel rewards with American Express. Choosing the right credit card can make a huge difference in how you feel about your cards, and it can also save you money.

Bank versus friend for loan?

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Getting a loan is a relatively easy process as long as you have a good credit history and in regular employment. The main thing to check when applying for a loan is interest rates, as they can vary widely from bank to bank. Comparison sites on the web are usually the best way of checking out the best deal, visit sites like Money Saving Expert or Money Supermarket, or just run a search.

The term of the loan is also a main consideration, how long can you afford to make payments for, what is the loan for? If it’s for a car then make sure the term is for no longer than you expect to keep the car. You don’t want to be left in a situation where ton change your car you have to have to take out another loan.

Borrowing from a friend can make life easy as they may not charge you interest, but it could be a good way to dissolve a good friendship. What would happen if you lost your job, couldn’t pay or they desperately needed the money back, how would you feel?

Another important thing to think about is, do you really need another loan? If you’re in serious debt, it might be better for you to seek debt help and consider debt solutions like an IVA or debt management rather than taking out another loan to pay off your existing debt.

If you do need to get a loan, I would say banks are the best option but do your research, that is unless your best friend has won the lottery!

Discover the FTP Alternative for Businesses

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Have you hear about the new File Share alternative to FTP? Businesses today are switching from their old FTP software and servers to the extranet option offered at ShareFile.com. There are several advantages to switching to ShareFile’s service, including faster file transfers, better security and more reliable service and support.

If you rely on SFTP to upload big files for clients to download, you probably think your data is completely safe. It is much safer than it would be with a regular FTP connection, but you still do not have the level of control you could. With ShareFile, you receive an alert every time a file is downloaded. You can also use their Audit and History feature to see exactly who has viewed your files.

In addition to enhanced security features, you can upload large files twice as fast with ShareFile as you can with FTP. Downloads are faster for clients, too, and logging in is a snap. ShareFile can be accessed from any web browser without special software. If you or your clients ever need support, it is available 24 hours a day for ShareFile users.

If you’re curious about ShareFile and the advantages of using this type of service instead of FTP, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial at their website, ShareFile.com. Once you and your clients try this incredible service, you will wonder how you ever got along without it.

A Gift Basket beyond Compare

Monday, May 26th, 2008

How would you like to give out a terrific Corporate Gift that will really Wow your clients? Last year, I received an absolutely gorgeous gift basket from the small marketing business I used to help design my website. There were three things that stood out about this gift basket: quality, originality, and timing.

First, this was no ordinary gift basket. The “basket” was actually a beautiful watercolor art gift box I now use to store office supplies. It features a lovely watercolor design that matched the contents of the box, and I mention the gift and the company that sent it whenever someone asks me where I got the box.

The box contained an exquisite selection of delicious pears, Pear cider, some excellent chocolate treats and very tasty cheese. I enjoyed these treats over the course of several days. The combination of the beautiful box and truly unique treats was original and impressive, to say the least.

To top it all off, I didn’t receive this wonderful gift box for Thanksgiving or Christmas or my birthday. I received this delightful surprise at the beginning of October, when I least expected it. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the onset of autumn.

If you would like to impress your clients or even your friends or loved ones with really special Gift Baskets this year, check out the selection at TheFruitCompany.com. That’s where my “Beyond Compare” gift basket came from. What an appropriate name.

Tire and Wheel Balancing

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Hitting a bump in the road may seem like a minor problem but is can cause major issues. For example, a minor bump could knock the cars wheels out of alignment. While it is always good to have the best wheels and tires you can afford even the best have their limitations. So, while it is recommended to purchase top tires such as Rota Wheels and Falken Tires it is also critical to understand that they will not last if they are not properly taken care of. One of the most common areas of contention is proper alignment. If tires and wheels are not aligned properly they will not handle on the road well and can often pose a safety hazard. This is why it is critical to make sure your car’s wheels are properly aligned. Thankfully, the process of correcting the alignment of the wheels is a simple one. Often, such a process can be combined with other service. For example, if you need Honda Parts installed you could also have your wheels aligned at the same time. In fact, such an alignment would be recommended! After all, you want to preserve you own safety as well as others on the road. As such, examining the alignment of the wheels should be performed when necessary.

Built in Safety Features

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

As previously mentioned there will be those individuals who weigh concerns of safety into their purchase of Energieberater wood heaters. In reality, there is nothing wrong with such concerns because it is perfectly reasonable to expect a safe product. Thankfully, there are a number of wood heaters that are produced with several safety features which make the Gelkamin wood heaters even more significantly safe. For example, there is a unique safety feature among wood heaters that is a known as a “time safety valve.” As the name would imply this is a feature on the offene Kamine wood heater that will shut off the wood heater after a certain amount of time has passed so as to maintain safety if the wood heater is not being monitored. Then, there will be other aspects to the design which will do wonders for keeping the fire burning safely such as anti-tipping structures which is a fairly self descriptive feature. Similarly, there will be wood heaters which are constructed so as not to conduct heat ‘to the touch’ of the heater itself. (This way, no one accidentally suffers a burn from errantly touching the heater) So, if you have any concerns regarding the safety of a wood heater it is safe to say that may of your concerns have been taken into consideration by manufacturers and they have also been addressed as well.

Types of Loans

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

If you are looking to become involved in overseas property Investing then it would be likely that a mortgage will need to be secured. Of course, not all mortgages are created equal and a well versed property investor knows this. In general, there are two types of mortgages that can be acquired: fixed loans and variable rate loans. Fixed loans involve an interest rate that never changes. That is, a 7% rate is “fixed” and will never change. With a variable rate loan, the interest rate could go up or down depending on a variety of external factors. The most positive outcome would be the interest rate ends up being lower than the average fixed loan rate. The worst case scenario would be that the interest rate rises way above the fixed rate average. In a way, a variable rate is a gamble and if you are not comfortable with this then seeking a fixed rate would be much more preferable. Remember, if you fall in love with that beautiful home you saw in Property Investment Guides you do not want to worry about foreclosures after you purchase it. So, select a mortgage wisely based upon your current circumstances.

Function of credit cards

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Before talking about credit cards, just have an idea about the cards. Credit cards mean a procedure of payment through a small plastic card. The credit cards are different from debit cards, as after every transaction your money will not be removed from the account. Against any purchase card holders are allowed to make the payment to the merchants. Most of the credit cards are of same size, and the general size is 85.60 x 53.98 mm. After the customers get the approval of an account, the credit cards are issued to them by the bank. The payment mode is very simple; after making any purchase if the merchant accept credit cards, the card holder gives the card to swap.

The merchant gives a receipt to the card holder where he/she needs to do signature. By entering the personal identification number, amount will be deducted from the card holder’s account. Nowadays, it often happens that if you are not present at the spot, then your verbal authorizations will be accepted over phone, or through internet. It just takes a few seconds to verify the customer’s account, whether the credit cards are valid, or not. The credit cards have a magnetic chip through which data is obtained. The card provider sends a statement to the consumer every month, which contains the record of purchases, or any outstanding fees. Card holders do have an opportunity to claim any dispute, if not then he/she needs to pay the bill by the due date. Banks are mainly the provider of credit cards, and the customers are charged an interest on the billed amount, and the rate of interest is quiet high. There is nothing to be scared; if you use them carefully then you do not have the tension of getting highly charged.
